The return of virtual learning

Hey friends,

Based on the number of recent school exposure notices, I'm gonna say it's pretty fair to suggest that if you've left home in the past week, you've likely been exposed.

One of the 5 most common symptoms of is sore, scratchy throat. No surprise since this thing sets up shop in the nose and throat.

Here are several options that will knock down replication and/or offer some relief while your immune system does what it's designed to do.

There are 2 key factors here: having supplies on hand and using them consistently.

Feel better fast, loves!

1. Add 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide or betadine to 6 oz distilled/filtered water. Use a neti pot or bulb syringe to squirt the mixture up the nose, allow to drain down throat and spit it out. Do a few times in each nostril and gargle the remainder. Do this every 4 hours if feeling poorly, or nightly after returning home from your day prophylactically.

2. Gargle hot salt water hourly. Use filtered/distilled water and a good quality salt like Redmond's Sea Salt. Add 3-4 drops Melrose, Tea Tree, Thieves or Immupower essential oil.

3. Gargle Thieves Mouthwash and swallow. Yes, really!

4. Drop a Thieves Cough Drop into 6-8 oz hot water to make a Throat Tea. Add a bit of honey if you like. (This is especially helpful if the throat feels too raw for concentrated cough drops.)

5. Drop 3-4 drops Copaiba Vitality oil under the tongue and hold for 20 seconds.

6. Apply Thieves Chest Rub over neck, throat, and chest.

Use Roller blends like Soothe see bee dee, Breathe Again, or Deep Relief on Throat.

7. Apply hot compresses.

8. Do lymphatic massage on throat down toward collarbone.

9. Spray inside mouth and throat with Thieves spray (the tiny, pre-mixed blend)

10. Mix Thieves + Lemon + Purification + Lavender+ Frankincense Vitality oils + carrier oil in a roller, and apply over throat.

11. Sip warm broths. Our grandmothers weren't wrong about the benefits of hot chicken noodle soup!

12. Take hot, steamy showers and direct water over the neck, chest, and upper back.

Thankfully, this variety is showing to be milder and less concerning. Still, there's lots to be done to help your immune system work best and to help you feel better in the interim.

And, for goodness sake, if you don't feel well, STAY HOME.
